Travelling from Barry to Liverpool she experienced very bad weather and was forced to shelter for some days in Milford Haven. On sailing she managed to reach Bardsea where in high winds and strong seas a pipe ruptured in her engine room causing the engine room to flood. The rising water level put out the boiler fires leaving the ship without power.A radio distress call was issued but went unacknowledged.Seven hours later with the ship settling deeper in the water and drifting nearer to the Anglesey coast both anchors were dropped and distress rockets fired but again with no response. The crew of nine feared the worst. Unknown to them however the rockets had been seen and the Hollyhead lifeboat,City of Bradford launched. Eventually The C.O.B. reached the ship and after making four passes, with the crew jumping from the railings, the Coxswain Richard Jones managed to rescue all on board. Abandoned to the sea the ship went ashore and started to break up after her cables parted.Much of the timber cargo was salvaged and the wreck now lies at a depth of 7-11m in Caethle Bay.
